Fiesta Farm: A Hands-On Experience
I’m an animal lover. Always have been. I can’t remember a time when I didn’t have a pet. I’ve often had classroom pets too. From dogs and cats and hamsters to animals at the zoo, I enjoy being around animals, so you can imagine how quick I jumped at the chance to visit Fiesta Farm this past weekend.
Fiesta Farm is just that, a farm. It’s a wonderful place to see animals up close, feed and pet them, ride horses, and go on hay rides. Friendly goats and chickens and peacocks roam freely, giving visitors a chance to see them up close and interact with them.
Overall, it was a fun visit, full of learning opportunities and excitement. I’d suggest going as early as possible to beat the Texas heat. We went early afternoon and the temp was so hot it prevented us from staying as long as I would’ve liked. I’m excited to return in the Fall when we can spend more time outdoors with cooler temperatures.
Fiesta Farm is open year round to the public Monday-Friday, 9:00am-1:00pm, Saturdays from 9:00am-5:00pm, and Sundays from 12:00pm-5:00pm. The farm is located at 8497 FM 1506N, San Antonio, TX 78254.
Admission is $8 per person and includes entry into the farm for ages 2 and up, a pony ride for children under 16, and a hay ride.
Fiesta Farm also hosts birthday parties and Prek-3rd grade school field trips. They will even bring a petting zoo to you! I’m excited for hubby to take MJ and Xander back for a homeschool field trip during the school year.
Visit their website for more info and upcoming events at http://www.fiestafarmlc.com. I was excited to see that they have a Pumpkin Patch in the Fall.
